I wrote a review of Prince Street Pizza 3 years ago at the West Hollywood location, and I thought that pizza was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Recently on Redditt, people were claiming that Brooklyn Square was better than Prince Street Pizza. So I decided to come here to see for myself. I got 4 slices of different pizza, and while they were good, they were not better than Prince Street Pizza. They were well crafted, good quality, sound ingredients that went into their pizza, but the damning thing was, there was something about these pizza slices that was unremarkable. Worst of all, these slices of pizza were the same price as Prince Street. Prince Street is worth every penny, but Brooklyn Square isn't.

Pizza is decent for this area. If you pick up an order make sure you check it before you leave. They didn't give me any ranch or sauce for my zucchini sticks and no condiments or utensils as I'd requested. No parm or pepper for the pizza. Also the fried zucchini sucked. I'm pissed I paid $8 for them! It was soggy, cold and a stringy mush on the inside. It's like the zucchini had evaporated when they cooked it so I was mostly eating breading. definitely skip the zucchini sticks. Also there's no quick parking to pull over and run in.

I was a bit skeptical about this place because the vibes did not hit at all. It was pretty quiet with country music playing which isn't something I've ever heard in a pizza shop. Got a few cheese slices and a granny square. Everything was pretty top notch compared to other restaurants I've visited. They're not greasy, cheese is perfectly distributed, etc. if you're looking for an actual NY slice, this is the place to go if you're in Glendale/Pasadena areas

Alright, I've been wanting to leave this review for some time, and this will be my first, potentially last, Yelp review. As a New Yorker living in California for 10 years, I've grown tired of hearing about a pizza spot claiming "New York Style Pizza" (and don't get me started on bagels). No dig on California Style Pizza; it's just something different, and I feel like life would be better if we all agreed on that. I eventually gave up. Whenever someone recommended a new "New York" pizza spot to me, I would politely pass and be on my merry way. California, you beat us in tacos... let's not get greedy. So, when a friend recommended Brooklyn Square, I reluctantly (I confess) gave it a shot because it was within walking distance... and I'm from Brooklyn so the name alone, ya know... how could I pass? I showed up and started chattin with someone waiting in line who was also from New York - I think my Mets hat gave me away (LGM!). She said, "If you're looking for a true NY slice, this is the spot..." She was right, and almost every time I go back, I meet someone else from NY. I took one bite and thought I was teleported back to NY. I couldn't tell if I was on Staten Island at the brick oven spot near my aunt's house (if anyone knows about NY pizza, it's all about the crust) or if I was at my corner spot in Brooklyn... but my body left California. We recently tried Prince St. (no shade; it was good), I also tried Pie Life (good pizza, not NY).. I'm convinced Brooklyn Square is THE SPOT TO GO for great pizza. My family visited recently, and after walking around downtown, we decided to grab a slice... I spoke with my mom just a couple of days ago and she brought up Brooklyn Square... with her Newyorican accent she said, "who knew I'd visit California and eat great New York Pizza." Give this spot a try. They also have great hero sandwiches/subs (Boar's Head products). This will be my spot as long as I'm in Pasadena.

Brooklyn Square has become my go-to pizza place for delivery. They have a huge menu of New York and homestyle pies and sandwiches. Even with this large menu everything I've had has been reliably good. The delivery/carry out is also fast, even during the dinner rush. The New York style pizzas are big with crisp and chewy crusts. The Grandma style pies are more like eating a pizza atop a rich focaccia bread. Whether you prefer the round or square pie, you really can't go wrong. The spicy pepperoni Grandma pie is a personal favorite, it's topped with crushed green chilies (maybe hatch?) that make it really unique. The sandwich quality is also impressive. The Italian, New York Reuben, and Buffalo chicken were all good enough to order again. Beyond the food quality, I appreciate how the shop pays homage to New York pizza parlors by selling pizza by the slice. If you're near Old Town ditch the car for the night and walk over for a slice and soda.

We were asked by my aunt to come by to have pizza at her place. She ordered the spicy pepperoni squared pizza with mushrooms and the classic New York Reuben. The pizza had great flavor but we were missing the crispiness of the crust. We actually really loved their Reuben sandwich. We ate it so fast that I didn't get to take a picture of it. I think if I get their pizza again, I will definitely have to eat it there

Tasty pie! I haven't had the pleasure of having a slice of NY pizza yet but if it's similar to what I had here I can't wait! We ordered a cold Rueben Sandwich and an 18" NY Classic Cheese pizza. My kids love pizza and they ate their slice as quickly as it cooled down (they don't like their food hot). Nice music playing in the background and Home Alone on the TV when we arrived. You can park in the structure across the street or down on the surface street meter parking. They have a handicap lift to get up and down if you need. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is no high chairs for kids nor do they have a changing table in the restroom for kids.
